“From my own ordeal I learned that you have to stay true to yourself. If I would have said no to my friend I would not be in this mess. I allowed myself to compromise my own values.
Even though I was forced to take the class as a consequence of my actions, I learned a lot. Besides being embarrassed for what I did and getting caught, I know that I hurt my family. I also gained knowledge of what shoplifting does to our community. I found out why prices are so high because of the need to compensate for the stolen money.
Now I know that most stores lose up to $10 billion in merchandise and that's about $25 million a day. I can tell you, I am never stealing again,” stated Andre.
